Never thought I'll find a good pastrami sandwich in a gas station and prepared right inside. Never in the Bay Area. No wonder it's a local gem.
My wife and I enjoy a charcuterie board with meats, cheese, veggies, and crackers (which we call a "snack tray") a couple of times a week, and Kent's is our go to place to get the goods. They have a fantastic selection of specialty cheeses and salami. It's the only place in Shasta County I've found that carries Molinari salami from San Francisco, which is the gold standard. They have a nice selection of craft beers that go great with their salami and cheeses. A real family feel to the place as well. There's a deli area with sandwiches, salads, and pre-made lunch and dinner entrees. We love Kent's!
Awesome store. Ran into it to use bathroom after a long trip and it turned out to be a hidden gem. Their selection of snacks and every day groceries was surprising. Employees were very nice and the store was clean as can be. Will definitely be coming back and cant recommend it enough.
Kathy's deli has one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! We had the Reuben but I'm sure they are all delicious.. Highly recommend
Everything is fresh, from meats to produce to deli. Come here for the great sandwiches at lunch. Call ahead and take back to work to eat. Great sides made that day on site!!
This place is not R&R Meats (if you live in Redding you know that place) but often comes up in conversation when you talk to locals. It is a market in the true sense of the word in that it has a great selection of just about anything you could want. A great meat case, not big but a lot of different selections (found a brisket flat here, which you can't find in a lot of places). Cheese and cured meats for a charcuterie board? They got it. Sort of a cross between an upscale market and a convenience store. If you are in the area maybe stop in here and check it out. Also it is just up the street from the best nursery I have found around here, Wintour Gardens, so make a day of it and buy some plants there and stop here for some meats and vegetables to grill. Gardening and grilling, now that's summer (but this is Redding so maybe do it in late spring before the temperatures get silly hot).
Kent's Meats and Groceries isn't your average gas station market. It's a full-service grocery store, complete with a produce aisle, a deli and even fresh crab on ice! There's a decent beer and wine selection, as well. I picked up a single-serve slice of lasagne with garlic bread in the deli section. There was also a nice selection of sandwiches, mac and cheese, boneless wings, enchiladas and meatloaf. Overall, this is a great stop if you're staying in or passing through Redding. You can get cheap gas at the Valero Gas Station and then get your necessities at this grocery store.
Omg I was on my way to the airport and had to get some gas and noted the smoking barbecue ! I ordered a tri tip sub with some horseradish sauce and died and went to heaven as this flavor and tenderness of the meat was scrumptious. A true five star hole in the wall you don't want to miss if your passing through Redding - not that you will but when and if don't miss this eatery - butcher deli!!!!
